About Me: Hi! I’m Mrs. Johnson, and I am a 6th grade social studies/ELA teacher! I am so excited about the upcoming school year, and I cannot wait to get to know you and your family as we begin your sixth grade year. Just a little bit of info about me: I grew up in Knoxville, TN and attended the University of Tennessee for undergrad, where I majored in theatre and political science. After that, I moved to Nashville and started teaching 6th grade literacy. I received my graduate degree in instructional practice at Lipscomb University in 2015. I truly love working with middle schoolers, and I can't wait to see what the year has in store for us. Please feel free to reach out to me at any point this year with questions. My email is firstname.lastname@example.org.
Schoology: All of our class info can be found on mnps.schoology.com . This is where I will keep you and your families up-to-date on what is happening each week. You will need to use our MNPS username and password to access the sight. You can also use the clever portal to log in. I monitor all comments on this sight, and all school rules apply to anything you post on here.
Parents, you will also need to use your child's log-in info as well to access the sight. This website has everything you need to know about our class: materials, assignments, due dates, etc. If your student needs their username/password or needs their password reset, please have them see me. Otherwise, they should be able to show you how to log on. Thank you!
Techbook Info: If your student would like to access the SS techbook from home, go to: -www.clever.com/in/mnps -choose "Log In with Office 365" -log in with your MNPS email (FULL first name + last initial + last 5 digits of student ID #) @mnpsk12.org // password is usually your FULL student ID # (beginning with 190...) -choose "Discovery Education" under Applications -if it's your first time logging in, you may be automatically taken to the "United States History" techbook. If that happens, click the "Switch Course" drop down menu near the upper right and choose "World History: Prehistory to Present."
